MORE than £5 million was raised in the 25 years Ian Dickson worked for St David’s Hospice lottery.
Now retired Ian said: “It was a very satisfying job because the cause is so worthwhile, it is an excellent cause. I believe the lottery raised something in the order of £5 million over the time I was there. It would be a very different place without the funds the lottery generates.”
Ian, who lives in Llandudno now has the time to do a lot of travelling with his wife Elizabeth, and one of the first places to visit on their list is Hadrian’s Wall.
Before moving to Wales from Buckinghamshire he was a director of a textile firm which manufactured workwear. A keen sailor is crews a racing dinghy at Beaumaris. He is also keen on sketching and water colour painting.
He and Elizabeth have a son and a daughter and a grand daughter.
