A top North Wales chef, who has cooked for royalty, has started a new challenge at the helm of Bodnant Welsh Food Centre.
Hefin Roberts, is the new chef overseeing the centre’s food operations. He has created a new menu for The Hayloft restaurant which takes full advantage of fresh produce and food made onsite by the Bodnant dairy, bakery and butchery.
He said: “Seasonality is very important, so the menu will change with the seasons to ensure everything is as fresh as possible. I am really excited to be here at the Food Centre.”
Hefin, 34, lives in Anglesey and started his career at Llandrillo college which offered him a scholarship with Gordon Ramsey in London. He is a member of the Welsh National Culinary Team and has cooked a special St David’s Day meal at 10 Downing Street as well as preparing a reception for Prince Charles.
