DESPITE a valiant effort Llandudno couldn't get their Europa League adventure off to a dream start losing 5-0 to IFK Göteborg in Sweden.
After an energetic start from the visitors, the hosts soon showed their dominance with two goals in quick succsession from Gustav Engvall and winger Søren Rieks. The Swedes capped off a strong first half display when Emil Salomonsso converted a good ball into the box to make it 3-0 going into the break.
Tudno came out for the second half looking confident keeping the home side at bay and came close to getting themselves back into the game, a Liam Dawson free kick going just over the bar.
It wasn't long until Llandudno's resistance was broken though, another two quick goals in the 79th and 81st minute by Swedish international Tobias Hysen took Goteborg out of sight.
