Just a single bid was received for Conwy's Civic Hall following a tender process which closed in June 2017.

Conwy County Borough Council's (CCBC) finance, overview and scrutiny committee, in a meeting earlier this month, have made a recommendation to the cabinet to accept this single bid. Cabinet are set to meet next on May 8.

Minutes from the meeting suggested an in depth discussion surrounding the matter and a number of members were even against accepting the bid.

However the majority accepted the bid and have now passed it to cabinet who will have the final say next month.

Minutes from the scrutiny committee said: "Cabinet should be recommended to accept, in principle, the offer submitted by the single bidder and give delegated authority to the County Valuer and Asset Manager to agree the final terms and conditions."

While it is unknown who the single bidder is, pub chain Wetherspoons have shown considerable interest on the Civic Hall since it first became available.
