The North Wales International Music Festival was founded by William Mathias in 1972 with the aim of bringing the finest international artists to North Wales.

And this year is no exception, with a host of acclaimed acts from around the world descending on St Asaph for a week of eclectic sounds.
Ahead of the anticipated festival, this North Wales Pioneer Digital Podcast Special includes a small taste of what to expect from the event.

We start with guitar legend John Williams giving a live performance
of El Totuma.
Next is a choral offering from The King's Singers with Fair Oriana,
Beauty's Queen.
The Orchestra of the Swan add an orchestral element to the festival,
heard here performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No.13 in C Major,
Rondeau:Allegro conducted by David Curtis with Mark Bebbington on piano.
We return to choral music with The Cardinall's Musick singing
Laudibus in Sanctis and finish the podcast with a percussion by Dewi
Ellis Jones performing Saudacao.
