Brymbo 197-5
Llandudno 200-2
Llandudno won by eight wickets

LLANDUDNO kept up their title chase thanks to another big score from skipper Steve Smith, who helped his side to an eight wicket victory over Brymbo at the weekend.

Tudno’s bowlers, who were missing half of their opening pace pair in Jack Rimmington, struggled to break down their srubborn Wrexham hosts, who scored 197 for five from 54 overs.

Jordan Kane was the top wicket taker with two for 36 from 14 overs, whilst Duncan Midgley, Gordon Kerr and Ajay Dhawan also took a wicket each.

Set a tricky total after Brymbo’s long innings, Smith put in a swashbuckling
performance to get his side on track, scoring 81 from 77 balls, including fifteen fours, to take Llandudno half way to victory.

In partnership with Aled Williams, who scored 52, Smith steered Llandudno to 136 for his wicket, with his opening partner following with the score on 163.

Sam Rimmington scored 38 from as many balls and Jordan Kane added ten to seal another win for Llandudno, keeping them in the hunt for the title just five points behind leaders Menai Bridge.

Llandudno take on a local derby when they host Mochdre this weekend.

LLANDUDNO THIRDS picked up a quick-fire victory over Castell Alun at the weekend, winning by five wickets.

Alun scored 106 all out, thanks largely to 42 from opener Michael Arden, who was eventually caught by Tom Thornton from a Mark Nellist ball.

Thornton finished as the top bowler of the day with three for 30 from nine overs, whilst Jamie Light and Abhijeet Sharma claimed two each and Michael Kitchen rounded off the bowling.

Tudno took just 22 overs to reach 107, with Kitchen (32) and Light (20) the top scorers as Llandudno won with five wickets to spare.
