NINE man Llandudno held on to take a vital win at the weekend, beating Guilsfield in an action packed match.

With new manger Deiniol Graham away, Grant Montgomery joined Mark Hewitt in the dugout as Tudno made five changes to their starting line-up.

Things got off to a bad start though as debutant Connor Tierney was taken to hospital after suffering a broken jaw in first minute clash of heads.

But the Seasiders had more luck on 14 minutes, taking the lead through Ross Rule’s cool finish after a long ball forward, and things got even better two minutes later when a clearance from the Guilsfield keeper deflected into the net off Lee Thomas.

The visitors pulled one back from the spot through William Thomas after Tom Bainbridge brought down the goalscorer in the box, and things were level before the half hour mark when Thomas netted a simple finish after the Tudno keeper missed his clearance.

A bright start to the second half then saw Llandudno net what proved to be the winner, with Dean Seager finishing a left wing cross from Thomas to make it 3-2.

The Maesdu Road outfit controlled the contest until with 15 minutes from time, when a bizzare incident saw Ross Rule, who moments earlier had been substituted, and skipper Sean Eardley both dismissed by the referee, the latter for a second yellow card.

The nine men held on doggedly against a barrage of Guilsfield pressure, with Bainbridge making up for his earlier errors with two fantastic saves late on.

Conwy United meanwhile crumbled in the face of late pressure in their clash with Buckley Town, losing out to a couple of late goals.

A solid first half saw United comfortably deal with the visiting threat, whilst at the other end Mark Orme failed to net a free header.

Paul Cassidy found the back of the net before the break, but his effort was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.

Buckley edged the second half contest, and with ten minutes left took the lead with a powerful Tim Bigland header.

Mike Burke added a second soon after, chasing down a long ball before slotting past Danny Stanton to seal the win.
