CONWY UNITED were this week on the right end of a six-goal scoreline, twice coming from behind to crush Ruthin Town 6-2 despite missing their first choice frontline of Mike Lundtstrum and Paul Cassidy.

After losing 6-0 to Rhyl last week, The Musselmen went behind again in the fifth minute to a Kevin Garland goal, but Darren Jones pulled one back on 24 minutes with a well executed lob.

Ruthin regained the lead minutes before half time through Tommy Mutton, but a five-star second half saw Conwy romp home, with Jordan Kane restoring parity with a 53rd minute volley.

Joe Williams put the Tangerines ahead two minutes later with a 20 yard strike, and an 80th minute goal from Chris Quinn made the points safe.

Joe Jennings added the fifth on 85 minutes, before Williams scored his second of the game to complete an impressive performance at Y Morfa.

NORTH WALES’ most promising young footballers will be in action next Tuesday in an area rep squad game at Prestatyn’s Bastion Gardens.

The North Wales Coast FA under 18s will be taking on their Central Wales coutnerparts at 7.30pm on Tuesday November 15, looking to keep up their 100% start to the RAM Inter Association Trophy competition.
