LLANDUDNO TOWN will travel to Caersws in the third round of the Welsh Cup after a 3-1 weekend win over Guilsfield.

In-form Town, who have now picked up four wins from their last six matches, made a bright start to their weekend contest with Kevin Fields and Dean Seager both going close in the opening stages.

The former fed Lee Thomas in the area on 20 minutes, allowing last week’s four goal hero to pick up where he left off with a low left footed finish.

Five minutes later Dean Seager doubled the advantage, with Thomas turning provider to supply the young forward in the box, who expertly rounded both the goalkeeper and a defender to slot into an empty net.

The hosts rallied in the second half, and got their reward ten minutes from time through Will Thomas.

Some valiant defending then kept Llandudno’s noses in front, with Wyn Williams particularly impressive at the back, and a second for Seager with three minutes left, again rounding the keeper before scoring, secured the Seasiders’ passage into the next round.

Llandudno's Danny Hughes was delighted with his side’s improving form.

”I thought it was a really competitive game, we started the game well and after going two nil up Guisfield kind of started to put the pressure on but we stayed strong and deserved the win, that is the third win on the bounce now and hopefully we can keep this run going,” he said.
