MICK MCGRAA made a winning start to life as Conwy United manager as a Dean Canning debut double secured all three points away to strugglers Llangefni.

After a goalless first half, new recruit Canning put The Tangerines ahead two minutes after the break, and Leigh Craven doubled the advantage just a minute later.

Joe Garner pulled one back for Town on 52 minutes, but a second Canning goal on the hour mark secured all three points, keeping Conwy away from trouble in 11th place.

Deiniol Graham’s two month unbeaten run was ended on Monday as Porthmadog took a 2-1 win from Maesdu Park.

Rhys Roberts gave Porth the lead on the half hour mark, and Tudno’s task was made tougher by Joe Morgan’s dismissal ten minutes later.

Gareth Jones-Evans’ speculative effort doubled the lead just a few minutes later, and though Kevin Fields headed home from a corner just after the break, Porth held on to secure the win.

McGraa welcomes Cefn Druids for his first home tie in charge this Saturday, whilst Llandudno travel to title contenders GAP Connah’s Quay for a Friday night fixture.
Conwy have also re-signed homegrown midfielder and former Colwyn Bay and Wrexham player Robbie Williams.

Williams, who started his career with Conwy in the 97/98 season, has returned to add an extra combative edge to the United midfield.

Llandudno Town meanwhile have lost versatile midfielder Danny Hughes to table toppers Rhyl.
