LLANDUDNO Rugby Club’s Under 14s cruised into the semi-final of the Eryri Cup with a stylish 52-0 win over Pwllheli.

The Bay opened up a 32-0 lead at the break with a pacy brace from Morgan Owen and Sam Hughes, as well as one from Aled Webbs.

More of the same came after the break, with a quick Isaac Williams penalty catching the Pwllheli boys half asleep to put Adam Roberts in at the corner.

Rhys Tudor then scored an excellent long distance try against his old club, followed by another from Owen and Isaac Williams to round off the rout.

Colwyn Bay’s Under 15s also landed a solid victory, beating reigning First Hydro Co Plate champions Caernarfon 19-10.

The Bay made a fine start with skipper Harri Chinery Parkes sending through Iwan Coughlan to down in the corner.

Caernarfon struck back with a couple of unconverted tries to lead at the break, but some neat play from Remy Sheil allowed the scrum half to touch down under the posts and restore Colwyn Bay’s superiority.

The visitors fought back again, but quick thinking fly half Connah Harding dived onto a loose ball over the Caernarfon try line to seal the win.

Colwyn Bay Youth were unlucky to lose 12-7 to Pwllheli, having led through stand-off Pat Atkinson’s first half try and conversion.

Playing into a strong second half wind the Bay boys defended bravely, but a try midway through set up a nail-biting finale.

A spilled ball in the final minutes allowed Pwllheli in for the match-winning try, and the Bay were unlucky not to snatch a last gasp winner, with skipper Lloyd Jones having a try chalked off for not grounding the ball.
