JON NEWBY has been named the Blue Square North manager of the month for January.
The Seagulls player-manager, who only took up the reigns at the Red Lion Foods Stadium at the start of November, scooped the award after taking 13 points from 15 games, including four wins on the road.
"It's obviously very nice, but from my point of view myself, my assistant Stuart Barlow and my physio Barry Taylor are very much a three man team, and I share this award with them," he said.
"When you send the lads out on a Saturday they have to do the business, so it's very much a squad effort.
"It's nice to know that people thing you're doing a good job, and hopefully the curse of the manager of the month award won't strike as we've got some important games in the next month.
