SQUASH sensation Emily Whitlock capped a birthday week to remember by cruising to the 2012 Finnish Open title.
Number one seed Emily, who turns 18 today (February 15), sailed into Monday's Open final with straight-set wins against Milnay Louw of South Africa, Olga Ertlova of the Czech Republic and Malaysia's Siti Munirah Jusoh.
She then sealed the title by beating South African number two seed Siyoli Waters 11/6, 11/8, 11/3 in the final.
The title follows an impressive performance in the Under 21s World Cup in Chennai, India, where Emily helped England land a third place finish, dropping just one set in her four matches, including a victory against eventual champions Egypt.
Emily is now ranked the number one in the world Under 19s rankings, as well as 33rd in the full rankings.
