CONWY CELTS will test their mettle this Sunday in a crunch clash against Wales Students.
The Celts, who are taking on their first year of full competition in the North Wales Conference, are made up of playesr who usually play rugby union for clubs from across Conwy, and will be taking on the nation's top student players at the Racecourse in Wrexham.
Celts coach Ray Caldwell said, "It is a great honour to be invited to play at the Racecourse Ground against such formidable opposition. It will help us to identify where we are in the world of rugby league and show us areas where we need to work on to improve our playing ability".
The students bring a high pedigree to the table, having won the Student European Championships five years in a row in the 1980s and early 1990s.
The Celts play at Colwyn Bay Rugby Club on Brookfield Drive, and train from 6.30pm on Tuesdays, with junior sessions taking place at 6.30pm on Thursdays.
