MOCHDRE set up a Welsh Cup semi-final date with Colwyn Bay after a magnificent eight wicket win over Prestatyn.
The Welsh Premier League side tore into their opponents, racking up cheap wickets as Prestatyn posted 114 all out.
The economical trio of Neil Sutcliffe, skipper Adam Campion and Gareth Davies did the damage with two wicketes each, before Alex Davies mopped up the tail with three wickets in a whirlwind three over spell.
Despite the quick loss of Will Evans for 14, Joe Chaplin and Davies polished off the host’s challenge with some steady scoring, reaching 88 for Chaplin’s wicket before Mark Williams stepped in to see the tie off, claiming a comprehensive victory in the 31st over.
The win sets up a tantalising clash with their Liverpool Competition neighbours on July 1.
