OLD COLWYN boxer Lee “Mighty” Quinn is back in the ring on July 14 for his fourth professional bout.

The 23 year old light welterweight will be taking on his next opponent at the Deeside Leisure Centre, looking to make a winning return after a back injury hampered his previous bout with former amateur star Mitch Prince.

Tickets for the event are available from Lee priced £30 and £50 on 07572 337409. Lee is also looking for potential sponsors to help with medical and training costs, with further details available from Lee's manager Damian Jones on 01942 275634.

BILLY Edwards and Andrew Wilson were the latest winners for Dyffryn ABC in two recent boxing competitions.

GB competitor Billy was the victor in the bout of the night at the event in Smethwick, West Midlands, matching his opponent Faraq Hussain for the first couple of rounds before cracking up the pressure in the final round for a unanimous verdict.

15 year old Andrew landed victory five days earlier with a unanimous decision over James Thomas of Trostre, toppling his opponent with ease despite giving away 4kg in weight.

His brother John Paul was also in action at the Pembroke event, losing out a close majority decision to John Evans despite landing some hard blows.

Andrew also boxed at the Smethwick event with club-mate Billy, but had his hands full against Husnan Hussain of Windmill ABC, holding off his strong opponent for long periods but ending up on the wrong end of a majority decision.
