SOGGY WICKETS again spoiled play in the Spillane and Co Wealth Management T20 Evening Cricket League with only two matches taking place this week.

In Division Three Lex XI joined Abergele at the top of the table with a four wicket victory away to Fugro Robertsons. The home side batted first and found the going tough against some tight Lex bowling, with only Jawad Afzal’s 17 offering any real resistance. Robertsons finally closed their innings on 64 for nine with Lex bowlers Luke Regan and Jamie Light both taking three wickets.

The modest total was never going to trouble the Lex batsmen and they were steered to victory by a fine unbeaten knock of 29 Scott King. Alistair Burn bagged took two for 14 for Robertsons.

The only other game played this week was in the Semi-Final of the Robertsons Cup where Llandrillo College progressed to the Final with a nine run victory over Conwy.

College batted first and posted 102 for five, with Amar Sarder top scoring on 35. The Conwy innings got off to a good start before some good bowling pegged them back and the innings finally closed on 93 for seven.

Phil Wilson (25) top scored for the Musslemen whilst league stalwart Colin Bradley returned figures of two for 16. College will now play either Eirias High School or Mochdre CC in the final.
