GLAN CONWY passed a tough test in the Second Qualifying Round of the Welsh Cup, hammering Rhos Aelwyd 4-0.

Two goals in each half landed an emphatic win, with Jake Walker, Eric Wright and Chris King twice coming up with the goods.

Llandudno Junction are also safely through after seeing off Llangollen 3-0. Tom Roberts and Robert Williams both scored in a red-hot five-minute spell for a 2-0 lead at the break, with Williams sealing it with the third at the death.

Off colour Penmaenmawr Phoenix suffered a 9-0 stuffing at the hands of Greenfield.

Mochdre Sports lost their weekend match, with Rhyl Athletic taking a 2-1 verdict, while Betws yn Rhos went down 3-1 to St Asaph, with Jeff Cody scoring a last minute consolation.

Late goals from Lewis Burrell and Ryan Williams were not enough to swing FC Tudno’s match as they lost 4-2 to Cerrigydrudion, and Nick James’ 60th minute equaliser proved in vain for Llandudno United as they lost 2-1 to Y Glannau.

Conwy Borough’s second string claimed a 2-1 win over Caernarfon Town, with Dan Birtles and Jordan Bellam on the score-sheet.

Danny Forber put Glan Conwy’s reserves ahead against Bangor City, but two second half strikes gave the Citizens a 2-1 victory.
