COLWYN Bay Football Club have signed Cameron Darkwah on an inital one month loan from Blue Square Bet Premier side Stockport County.

Darkwah, 20, recently signed a new short term deal at Edgekey Park, following uncertainty about his future loomed after he chose originally not to sign his deal.

Cammy made his Stockport debut in 2010, coming on as a substitue in their game against Barnet, and has netted two goals in 17 Hatters appearances.

Darkwah has also been out on loan at Mossley where he score five goals in as many games, including a hat trick on debut before being sent off in his penultimate game. He then joined Halifax where he score one goal in his seven games there.

He will be a familiar face in the Colwyn Bay squad as he will be joining fellow Stockport youth products Danny Meadowcroft and Sean Williams, along with cult hero and Colwyn Bay Assistant Manager Stuart Barlow.

He goes into Saturday's squad to face unbeaten Brackley Town, and will be competing for a starting spot with fellow forward Matty Berkley, who hopes to have shaken off a virus.

Boss Jon Newby said he felt frustrated for Berkley, who netted his first Bay goal a fortnight ago in the 3-1 defeat to Corby Town.

“It’s a tough one for Matty, he’s done well to get into the starting 11 and scored a goal, and then this illness has put him out again," he said.

“We hope it’s not going to set him back, but we’ll see how he gets on in training and hopefully he’ll be in the squad for Saturday.

Frank Sinclair is also set to return after serving his one match suspension.

Colwyn Bay fans can take advantage of a special pre-match meal deal at the Red Lion Foods Stadium on Saturday.

Fans can enjoy a pie, chips and a pint of Guinness, John Smiths, Carlsberg or Cider for just £5, available up until 2.30pm, 30 minutes before kick-off against Brackley Town.

The special deal also applies for the FA Cup tie with fellow Blue Square North outfit Guiseley on Saturday, October 6.
