A LATE goal denied Colwyn Bay all three points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Ossett Albion.Manager Paul Moore took the blame for the loss, citing an unnecessary pair of substitutions at a critical time in the contest as the reason behind the setback. He said: “After they brought the extra forward on we made the changes to try and tighten us up a bit, and for Will Jones to try and hold the ball up for us, but it didn’t really work and in hindsight I should probably have left it as it was.“It’s disappointing not to get the three points, but they are a resilient side who are on a good unbeaten run at the moment.”The Seagulls began well and Scott Bakkor was unlucky to see his shot brilliantly cleared off the line by defender Oliver Yates after taking the ball past keeper Jordan Bradshaw, who then did well to save from Gaz Burnett. The visitors posed little threat in the early stages of the contest, although Kieran Wolland had to dive to his right to palm a shot from James Eyles. After the break saw Bay take the lead on 58 minutes when Will Booth rifled a shot into the net from the edge of the area as the ball rebounded to him after a Phillips effort had been blocked.Albion sub Conner Bower almost made an instant impact as his shot was turned onto the post one-handed by Wolland, and Nicholas Matthews put an excellent chance over the bar from 12 yards. They finally levelled matters on 86 minutes when Matthews rounded off an impressive individual run by firing home from a tight angle.
