NEW Llandudno signing Wes Baynes has set his sights on proving himself again at the top level.

The versatile player became Iwan Williams’ latest signing after joining from Airbus Broughton, and the full-back is eager to test his skills against the JD Welsh Premier League elite once again.

He said: “To be honest I have missed playing in the WPL so it is exciting for me to be back, and hopefully I can prove myself again.

“I would describe myself as an attacking full-back who pops up with assists and the odd goal from distance. I decided to come here after speaking with Iwan, who came across as a young confident manager.

“Having played against Llandudno last season with Connah’s Quay Nomads I already know the quality that lies within the squad, and they really impressed me with the way they go about things.”

Baynes, who also lists Colwyn Bay, Wrexham and Chester among his former clubs, is in contention to start their vital clash with Bala Town on Saturday and is hopeful that Williams will throw him in at the deep end as the club looks to get back into the top six.

“Hopefully I can get into the side and will I will prepare myself to start, but obviously that is down to Iwan whether or not that happens,” he added.
