NANT Conwy remain on course for the WRU National League Division One North crows after a thumping 71-15 victory over Mold.

The long-time leaders were in ruthless form once again to pick up the bonus point triumph, and they are now 12 points ahead of top flight rivals Bala having played a game more.

The home side wasted no time in making an impact and went over for the first try on five minutes through Sion Pringle, and this was swiftly followed by another score courtesy of former RGC star Carwyn ap Myrddin on ten which Arthur Lennon converted.

Lennon then got in on the by crossing the white wash on 14 minutes and duly despatched the extras, and their outstanding start to the game continued when Jack Moriarty went over for a converted try on 17.

This pattern of play continued throughout with Pringle helping himself to his second of the contest on 23 minutes which Lennon once again converted, but there was a brief spell of possession for the hosts which resulted in Jacko Oosterhuyzen recording their first points of the game on 26.

Nant resumed their superiority and scored three more times before the break through Cai Jones, Kenny Williams and Carwyn Davies all crossing the line, and after the break saw them immediately add to their tally when Moriarty touched down for his second.

The home side kept plugging away and they had two scores in quick succession to show for their efforts in the form of Caron Davies and Nicky Hughes, but Pringle’s hat-trick and ap Myrddin’s second rounded off the scoring for the title favourites late on.
