KINMEL Bay extended their lead at the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division summit with an emphatic 11-2 rout at Y Glannau.

The visitors got off to a strong start with Anthony Jones opening the scoring on eight minutes, with Kieran Ellis and Ben Cawley also netting within the first half hour.

Lewis Moroney and Ellis wrapped up the points before half time with a pair of neat finishes, and after the interval saw Tom Galvin and Cawley help themselves to efforts in a rampant spell for the visitors.

The impressive Cawley netted two more times throughout the contest to take his talk to four for the afternoon, and Ellis also struck a quadruple thanks to two late efforts to complete the rout.

Leon Field’s side are now four points clear of Llansannan, who had their home clash with Machno United called off due to the weather.

Llanfairfechan Town remain in the title hunt after sealing a 4-1 victory at Rhyl Youth, with striker Iwan Jones proving to be the difference between the two sides thanks to a sensational four goal display.

In the only other game to survive the conditions, Jack Gibbon’s late strike on 87 minutes gave Rhyl Rovers a 3-2 home success over Bro Cernyw.

Llandudno Athletic remain one point clear in Division One after a resounding 14-1 triumph over Hope Wanderers.

Jack Williams, Nathan Williams and Danny Talbot all fired home trebles during the one-sided affair, with Ryan Williams (2), Jamie Moorhouse, Joe Roberts and McKenzie Slaven completing the rout.

Hot on their heels are Llandudno Amateurs, who had goals from Todd Davies (3), Aaron Rodger (2) and Sean Sharp to thank for a 6-2 win over Llysfaen.
