KINMEL Bay progressed to the Normac Precision Engineering Premier Cup third round with a narrow 3-2 win over Cerrigydrudion.

The home side were rewarded for an impressive start on 18 minutes when Ben Cawley opened the scoring, and veteran playmaker Ashley Wood was on hand to double their tally on 32 after another period of pressure.

After the break saw the visitors get back into the tie on 50 minutes through Rhydian Edwards, but the hosts responded well and restored their advantage on the hour mark when Kieran Ellis finished well.

A nervy ending to proceedings was ensured when Rob Kimberley gave the away side hope on 87 minutes, but Bay held firm in the closing stages to book their place in the hat.

Trystan Roberts and Carwyn Davies were on target for Bro Cernyw in their Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Premier Division success over Y Glannau, while Alan Jones, Ash Morris, Joel Massam and Kyle Johnson all found the target in the first half for Old Colwyn in their thrilling 4-3 victory at Abergele.

Division One leaders Llandudno Athletic suffered another blow to their title hopes as they were held 2-2 at Henllan.

First half efforts from Alex Ballard and Stephen Williams put the home side in control, but Athletic came out flying after the break and rescued a point thanks to strikes from Nathan Williams and Alex Stokes.
