A TALENTED sailing duo turned in another strong performance at a national event.

Ewan Luke and Zac Blomeley competed against some of the best young sailors in the country at the Noble Marine 29er Winter Championship, which was held at Draycote Water Sailing Club.

The pair managed to perform well in freezing conditions over the two days to secure a fifth-placed finish for their efforts, which is the latest in a long line of regional, national and international recognition for Rydal Penrhos’ Joint-Commodores.

Also competing at the championship was Harry Pulford, who continued his recent success with an 11th placed finish alongside partner Toby Cope.

They have been training with nationally renowned coaches as part of the Great Britain 29er Youth squad after earning a call-up last year, while also being part of the Welsh set-up thanks to their consistently outstanding performances on the water.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “Both Ewan and Zac continued to demonstrate their immense potential in the sport of sailing, and their continued success is something that really inspires younger members of the Rydal Penrhos community.

“Hopefully this will be another busy few months for the pair as they look to enhance their growing reputations at competitions across the country.”
