LLANGEFNI Town remain at the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One summit after a 2-0 win over title rivals Llanrwst United.

Chris Roberts’ side are six points ahead of Conwy Borough having played two games more, and they went ahead on the half hour mark thanks to a neat finish from Matthew Jones.

The Rwsters had a goal controversially disallowed which would have levelled matters, but the hosts sealed another crucial three points two minutes from time when Iwan Jones doubled their advantage.

Llanrug United are also still in contention after a 3-1 success over Llandudno Albion, with efforts from Llion Jones and Marvin Pritchard giving them a two-goal advantage within the opening 30 minutes.

This was swiftly followed by a Dylan Owen strike on 43 minutes to all-but seal the win, and despite a Connor Davies reply on 72 they saw out the remainder of the game with minimal fuss.

Late goals from Stephen Jones and Carl McDonald secured a dramatic 2-1 home victory for Llanberis over Greenfield, while Guy Hughes, Matty Jones and Dave Webb gave Trearddur Bay a 3-0 triumph against Barmouth and Dyffryn United.

A brace from Steven Jones did the majority of the damage as Penrhyndeudraeth sealed a 3-1 win over St Asaph City, with Rhys Williams and Aron Thomas also scored twice for Nantlle Vale in their 6-4 triumph at Pwllheli.

Bodedern Athletic advanced to the Take Stock Van Hire Cup third round as goals from Gareth Torr, Eric Leach and Tom Jones gave them a 3-0 win over Llannefydd, but Aberffraw were unable to cause a stir at the Division Two summit in their 5-0 hammering at title favourites Prestatyn Sports.

Llannerchymedd and Y Felinheli needed just a solitary goal to beat Llanfairpwll and Pentraeth respectively, while Amlwch Town and Gaerwen shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate.
