LLANDUDNO have further strengthened their squad with the signing of forward Damian Ketley from Prestatyn Town.

Manager Iwan Williams continues to be active in the transfer market following the recent acquisitions of Kai Edwards and Mike Pearson from Connah’s Quay, and the Tudno boss received another boost with the news that midfielder Jay Gibbs has agreed to stay on at The Giant Hospitality Stadium.

Ketley is a powerful striker who was one of the standout performers for the Seasiders in their JD Welsh Premier League campaign that ended with relegation, while Gibbs has a strong relationship Williams as the pair worked together at Caernarfon Town prior to their respective moves.

Williams, said: “Damian tore us to pieces in our first game against them with his movement and running.

“He’s as strong as an ox and has a bit of bite about him. He runs the channels well and is as fit as anyone I’ve come across.

“We want to play with intensity next season and Damian will certainly give us that. Damo lives down the road in Rhyl so again will know the expectancy of this club next season.”

Williams also declared his delight at securing Gibbs’ signature, and he is hoping that he can be more of an asset to the set-up next term with a solid summer of preparation during pre-season.

“Jay came in and wasn’t fully fit last season and still the fans took to him immediately due to his work ethic,” added Williams.

“To score two goals in three appearances at a higher level showed enough potential to make us want to keep him at the football club. He was unlucky to miss the last part of the season through suspension but again as a manager who has worked with Jay for a long time, I will not take that out of him.

“The identity we want to create next season is tenacity and energetic and Jay fits that bill perfectly. If Jay puts the work in during pre-season, I have no doubt that he will kick on and become a revelation in his first full season in the Welsh Premier League.”
