LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts has announced the appointment of Gerallt Jones to his backroom staff.

The former prolific forward has close ties with the club after a glittering spell spanning two decades, and played a significant role in their Cymru Alliance title winning campaign back in 2007.

Jones will replace Rob Hughes and join Jason Thomas and Liam Ewing on the coaching staff of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One championship hopefuls.

Roberts, said: “I would like to thank Rob Hughes for all he has done over the past three seasons and wish him all the best in the future.

“After narrowly missing out on promotion the last two seasons, I think a fresh approach was needed this time around, starting with the management team here at Llangefni.

“Jason, Ger, Liam and myself have held numerous meetings and all have the same passion, vision and desire to take this team forward.

“I believe Gerallt brings a variety of things to our team, he is very vocal, his knowledge of local football is second to none, he is a great character that will fit in well with our dressing room, he has experience of playing at the highest level where he played an attacking role for the likes of Bangor City, Llangefni Town, Glantraeth and Gwalchmai to name a few.

“Gerallt will bring a more attacking minded approach to our team and most of all his commitment over the years has been brilliant . I think the addition of Ger is a positive move in us progressing and can’t wait to get started with the lads.’’
