GLANTRAETH manager Warren Gibbs has outlined his ambitions after getting the club back up and running.

The Anglesey side folded last summer after refusing promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance due to a ground issue, but after a year out of the game the talented young boss is eager to pick up where he left off and get Traeth back to the heights that saw them clinch the third tier championship in 2017.

He said: “Seeing the club having to resign from Welsh Alliance Division One was a sad day. After all the years of support I'd had from the club I felt I owed it to them to get them up and running again.

“It was nice to have a break initially, but I soon got bored of Jeff Stelling and the boys. I'm refreshed now and really looking forward to the season ahead.

“The ground owner has always been very supportive in the past. The club have worked hard on the ground for 12 months and hopefully if we ever get the opportunity to reach those levels again, we'll be in a position to accept promotion.”

Gibbs, who turned down a number of opportunities to take up positions elsewhere, stated his desire to take things one step at a time ahead of what is sure to be a busy summer as he looks to build up the squad from scratch once again.

“I'm concentrating on this season and building a team that can hopefully get out of this division first time of asking,” he added.

“The ambition is to get back to where we were before last season but there's a lot of hard work ahead before that.”

“With us still not having definite confirmation of which league we'll be in it's been difficult to get players to commit. I've had a great response this week though from those I've spoken to and I hope to get everyone registered once we meet up.

“I was lucky to get a few offers, but it wouldn't be fair to name them. From a personal point of view my lack of coaching badges hasn't helped so that's something I need to look into as soon as possible.”
