LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has made another splash in the transfer market with the signing of hot prospect Cai Owen.

The young full-back arrives at the Giant Hospitality Stadium from recently relegated Bangor City, where he joined as an academy prospect from the age of 12.

He was around the fringes of the Citizens’ first team squad last term after impressing manager Kevin Nicholson with his drive and determination, and the Tudno boss expects big things from the teenager as he looks to establish himself as another of the JD Welsh Premier League’s brightest young talents.

Williams, said: "Cai joins us from Bangor where he was a product of their youth system.

“I’ve kept a close eye on his progress especially over the last 18 months and want to develop him here at Llandudno even further.

“He’s a dynamic and athletic full back who can also play in midfield if needed and will certainly be one to watch in the Welsh Premier League next season."

This is the latest in a series of moves from Williams, who is undergoing a complete squad overhaul this summer ahead of what will be his first full season at the helm.

He has brought in a wealth of experience in the likes of Kai Edwards, Michael Pearson and Alun Webb , while Steven Thomas, Damian Ketley, Ieuan Hewitt and Shaun Pearson will all look to make an impact in the top flight after standout careers in the Huws Gray Alliance.
