LLANDUDNO manager Iwan Williams has pulled off yet another transfer coup with the signing of Mark Connolly.

The experienced player, who can operate in midfield or attack, joins after a spell at Huws Gray Alliance side Rhyl last season, where he also managed the club for a brief period before moving to the director of football position.

He boasts plenty of JD Welsh Premier League experience with the Lilywhites and Bala Town, where he helped the Lakesiders’ emerge as a force to be reckoned with under manager Colin Caton.

This is the latest in a series of high-profile moves made in the transfer market by the Tudno boss, who has stated his desire to get his business done early in order to have a settled squad for the start of pre-season training.

Williams, said: "I’ve known Conno (Connolly) a long time and he’s a great addition to our squad, he has a wealth of experience and adds that know-how to the young-ish group we’ve acquired.

“In Shaun (Pearson), Peo (Mike Pearson), Kai (Edwards), Conno (Connolly) and with Matty Williams having committed to concentrating on playing another season they will be key in guiding and leading the rest who will be eager to play at the highest standard in Wales.

“Mark can play anywhere across the pitch with his versatility but we’ll look to utilise him up top where he has a knack for goals.

“I tried to sign him 12 months ago but thankfully we now have him in our ranks and his eagerness for another crack at the JDWPL is refreshing to hear."
