RGC head coach Mark Jones has announced that three forward players have left the club.

The Gogs revealed that Jed Kerkin, Calum Donnelly and Charlie Connolly have all been granted their release from Stadiwm Zip World, and they are now free to find another club ahead of the new season.

The Principality Premiership side are busy reshaping the squad in the hope of mounting a title push next season, and they have been dealt a blow with the news that influential trio Tiaan Loots, Jacob Botica and Alex Schwartz have also left to pursue their professional careers at Newport Gwent Dragons and Cornish Pirates.

Kerkin joined RGC during the summer of 2016 and quickly emerged as a popular and valued member of the squad, despite his contributions on the field being hampered by a series of niggling injuries during his two-year spell.

The prop also passed on his knowledge to the next generation due to involvement with the Gogs’ U16 coaching staff last term.

Donnelly and Connolly arrived midway through the season and found it difficult to make an impact on a settled side that was riding on the crest of a wave upo their arrival into the set-up.

An RGC spokesman, said: “We thank all three players for all their efforts, and we wish them all the very best for the future.”
