LLANDUDNO continued their recent resurgence to secure a ten-wicket home triumph over newly promoted Pwllheli.

The 2016 champions turned in another stylish display on both sides of the ball to seal their fourth victory of the North Wales Cricket League Premier Division season, and they now sit in fourth spot ahead of their trip to in-form Denbigh on Saturday.

The Lions made a strong start to their time in the field when Danial Evans disposed of dangerous opener Swapnil Kate for 15, while Tom Thornton ousted Morgan Murray-Williams after he contributed just seven.

Matthew Jones also got in on the act early on with the quick-fire wickets of Jason Underwood (10) and Syed Aslam (14), and the same bowled also disposed of Ioan Roberts (5) late on to end the day with figures of 3-26 from eight overs.

He was ably assisted at the other end by Evans, who took two more scalps in the form of Craig Edwards (20) and Sean Reilly (2) to finish on 3-47, and Tom Thornton also took two wickets for the loss of 27 as the away side were all out for 120 from their time at the crease.

The opening partnership of Jones and Evans ensured the hosts reached their target with minimal fuss, and the duo were a constant presence throughout to give them a memorable victory without the loss of a single wicket.

In-form batsman Evans hit 11 boundaries on his way to an unbeaten 65, and Jones also showcased his impressive shot selection to finish on 42 not out as they reached their required total after 27 overs at the crease.

There was no such luck for Llandudno’s second unit, who fell to a six-wicket defeat at Bethesda.
