LLANDUDNO continue to make a huge splash in the transfer market as manager Iwan Williams reshapes his squad.

The JD Welsh Premier League side have agreed terms with a number of talented players over the last week, with the former Caernarfon Town boss aiming to improve the club’s fortunes in his first full season at the helm.

The highest-profile name to arrive at the Giant Hospitality Stadium is experienced midfielder Mark Connolly, who makes a return to the top flight after a spell with Huws Gray Alliance side Rhyl.

Connolly held both the manager and director of football positions last term for the Lilywhites, and also remained a key figure within the squad during what was a season up underachievement for the group.

Tudno also sealed the signing of gifted youngster Cai Owen from Bangor City, with the hot prospect widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents anywhere in the region.

Owen was part of Kevin Nicholson’s squad last season and made a number of WPL appearances as the Citizens secured a second placed finish before their demotion due to their failure to obtain an FAW Domestic Licence.

Rounding off the week’s new arrivals were Alun Webb and Ieuan Hewitt, with the former coming through the Tudno youth system and joins from Gallivare Malmbergets FF in Sweden following a hugely impressive spell at Rhyl.

Commanding defender Hewitt gets his chance at the top of the Welsh pyramid after impressing for Huws Gray Cup winners Flint Town United, with Williams stating that the new recruit is “physical in the tackle and has great distribution and will suit exactly how we want to play next season”.
