LLANDUDNO Cricket Club hosted their First Ladies’ festival last week at their Oval ground.

More than 50 competitors took part in the festivities on Friday, July 13, with the players split into six teams playing three round-robin matches.

The contingent travelled from all over North Wales to take part and there was a “friendly atmosphere” with all participants throughout the evening.

The games were played with a softball but nevertheless the ladies showed a really high standard of cricket with everyone taking their turn in batting and bowling.

Volunteer coaches from Llandudno ran the games during the festival and food was provided by the club after the game.

Laura Nicholls from Cricket Wales who arranged the event presented bottles of prosecco and chocolates to the captains of each team and each lady participant was given a free t-shirt on the evening.

Club representative Joe Lambe thanked the ladies for attending and emphasised the high standards of cricket shown on the evening.

The club hope to host a similar event on in August, with further details set to be released in due course.
