GLAN Conwy have pulled off a huge coup with the acquisition of Jordan Phillips from nearby rivals Mochdre Sports.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two title hopefuls confirmed the arrival of the talented forward, who was coveted by a host of different clubs from across the region after a standout campaign last term.

Phillips’ efforts were acknowledged with a plethora of honours from Mochdre’s end of season awards ceremony, where he scooped the Players’ Player and Manager’s Player of the Year Awards.

He was also chosen as the Committee Player of the Year, the Top Scorer Award and the Goal of the Season distinction for his sensational late winner against Penmaenmawr Phoenix from inside his own half.

His arrival is a significant boost to a side than narrowly missed out on securing promotion at the first opportunity last term after leading for a large portion of the campaign only to be pegged back by Prestatyn Sports and Bodedern Athletic due to their substantial amount of games in hand.

The ambitious side have also announced the signing of veteran defender Mark Orme, who recently took over from Sean Eardley as Llandudno’s U19 boss and has enjoyed a glittering career at a plethora of clubs across North Wales.

The imposing figure is a natural leader on and off the field, and his experience with the likes of Denbigh Town and Holywell Town is sure to benefit the promotion contenders considerably throughout the campaign.
