A TALENTED golfer hit two significant milestones to add to his impressive list of recent achievements.

Charley Simpson, a Year 8 pupil at Rydal Penrhos School in Colwyn Bay, managed to secure a sensational hole-in-one during a round at the picturesque Nailcote Hall Golf Club in Warwickshire earlier this month.

The 13-year-old achieved the feat on the Jacklin Falls hole on the course, with Charley producing a superb shot on the sixth before watching the ball drop into the hole for his ace.

He also managed to shoot his first scratch round at North Wales Golf Club in Llandudno, which further highlighted his immense potential in what has been a standout young career to date.

The junior captain at Rhos on Sea Golf Club and sports scholar at the school has enjoyed another memorable campaign filled with regional and national successes as Charley continues to benefit from the expert coaching at Rydal Penrhos’ thriving Golf Academy led by programme co-ordinator Ian Richardson.

He has also added yards to his game thanks to the work he is putting in with the school’s dedicated strength and conditioning staff.

Director of Sport Allen Boyd, said: “This is yet further fantastic news for Charley and to achieve things that some players never managed to do at such a young age can give him an enormous amount of encouragement in terms of what he can achieve in the future.

“He is a hard-working pupil who is incredibly passionate about the sport, and he has gone from strength-to-strength thanks to his continued dedication under our fantastic Academy coaching staff.”
