PRESTATYN Sports picked up their first ever Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One win thanks to a 2-0 triumph at Llanrwst United.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ men built on their encouraging draw at Barmouth and Dyffryn United to open the campaign, and they went ahead on 29 minutes when the prolific Ian Griffiths notched his first goal of the season with a neat finish.

The same player was on hand to double their advantage after 39 minutes when he rounded off an impressive team move, and the visitors saw out the remainder of the game in comfortable fashion to secure their first three points of the season.

Llanberis also extended their unbeaten start thanks to an eye-catching 3-2 victory at Penrhyndeudraeth.

A brace from Richard McDonald did the majority of the damage, with Aaron Pritchard also on target for the away side with Pen’s goals coming from Aled Hughes and Richard Jones.

Kinmel Bay marked their first game back in Division Two with a heavy 5-1 loss at derby rivals Meliden.

League top scorer Matthew Griffiths continued where he left off last term and fired in two strikes, with a brace from Daniel Davies and a solitary Chris Roberts effort completing the rout, cancelling out the hosts; opener on the half hour mark from Ryan Hoult.

Goals either side of half time from Nathan Moore and Richard Roberts gave Aberffraw a 2-0 home win over Pentraeth, with a Dylan Williams strike on 68 minutes securing a 1-1 draw at Llannerchymedd. Tom Wyn Jones netting for the home side.
