COLWYN Bay Football Club have confirmed that Jennifer Whitlock has agreed to join its board of directors.

The new appointment brings a wealth of both sporting and business knowledge to the role, having run Le Sport Health and Fitness in Rhos on Sea with her husband, Phil since 1996.

A club spokesman, said: “With a BSc in Sport Science, Jennifer’s passion for sport is deeply ingrained and having represented Wales as an international sprinter herself, her sporting legacy has now been passed down to her children with daughter Emily having recently been ranked number 12 in the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World rankings, and son Adam, a proven goal- scorer in non-league football, who played for Northwich 1874 last season in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division.

“The board of directors were extremely impressed with Jennifer’s experience, knowledge and passion and look forward to working with her.”

The former chairwoman of Sport Conwy and the North Wales Performance Group, Mrs Whitlock was also voted on to the board of directors Colwyn BID earlier this year, which encourages partnership working between the local authority and the business community.

“Through her work with the Colwyn BID, Jennifer is keen to ensure that the Bay of Colwyn continues its generation and feels that Colwyn Bay Football Club should be at the very heart of the community,” added the spokesman.
