NANTLLE Vale heads the early Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One standings after a comfortable 4-0 home win over St Asaph City.

The home side got off to a strong start and took the lead on 25 minutes through Daniel Evans, and they managed to double their advantage soon after when Aaron Thomas hit the target.

After the break saw Thomas notch his second of the afternoon to all-but seal the points after 65 minutes, with a Gareth Edwards effort on 65 completing the rout.

Bodedern Athletic extended their positive start to life in the third tier with Stephen Whittaker and Aden Clarke on the mark in their 3-0 home success over Barmouth and Dyffryn United, and David Jones’ stoppage time strike gave Llanberis a narrow 2-1 triumph at Llandudno Junction.

A brace from Aaron Hughes was the catalyst behind Llanrug United’s 4-0 victory over basement dwellers Llanrwst United, with Alun Hughes on target for Penrhyndeudraeth in their 1-1 draw at Llandyrnog United.

There was no such luck for Mynydd Llandegai, who fell to a heavy 5-0 reverse at newly promoted Prestatyn Sports.

Holyhead Town came within seconds of securing a notable win at Division Two title favourites Glan Conwy thanks to a Joe Donovan strike on 70 minutes, but the hosts found the net in stoppage time to secure a share of the spoils.

A hat-trick from Tom Hughes was the highlight of Blaenau Ffestiniog’s emphatic 8-2 win over Aberffraw, with Aaron Owen and Griff Jones scoring two apiece in Y Felinheli’s 4-1 rout at Meliden.

Gaserwen and Pentraeth were on the wrong end of home defeats to Kinmel Bay and Llannefydd respectively, but there was better fortune for Llannerchymedd as a solitary Rob Jones effort sealed a 1-0 victory at Penmaenmawr Phoenix.
