LLANSANNAN got their expected Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title challenge off to a flyer with a comfortable 2-0 win at Bro Cernyw.

Gari Evans and Tom Lewis’ men are expected to challenge the newly promoted sides and Llanfairfechan Town for the championship this term, and they started their opening contest well with a Josh Jones opener after 17 minutes of play.

Veteran striker Geraint Jones was on hand to double their tally after the break with a smart finish on 55 minutes, and they saw out the remainder of the contest in commanding fashion to claim three points at the first opportunity.

Llandudno Athletic look like they mean business and maintained their perfect start thanks to a 5-2 triumph at Old Colwyn.

Jack Williams put them ahead early on with a neat strike on seven minutes, and a flurry of goals late on from Jay Moorhouse, Ryan Jones, Joel Jones and Jordan Dixon completed the rout and cancelled a brace from Jake Parkes for the home side.

Abergele also picked up an eye-catching win on their travels after a late 4-3 victory at Rhuddlan Town.

Connor Bucknall’s opener for the hosts on 20 minutes was cancelled out by Ant Zoezee on 22, with James Lloyd and Reece Kearney giving the visitors a two-goal cushion after the break.

Credit to Wayne Edwards Hughes’ side, they kept fighting and got themselves level through top scorer Jordan Bellham and Keiron Evans on 79 and 83 minutes, but Kearney would have the final say with a dramatic winner with 88 on the clock to confirm the victory.
