LLANGEFNI Town continued their excellent start to the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One summit with a 3-0 home win over Llandyrnog United.

The promotion hopefuls turned in another polished display against Ryan Harden’s injury-plagued side, and they are now level on points with Nantlle Vale with an inferior goal difference.

Manager Chris Roberts, said: “It was a good day at the office, although the scoreline should have been more I was satisfied with the team’s performance and how comfortable the win was.

“Our first home game of the season, there was a great atmosphere and buzz at the ground and it was excellent to have our under 8s as our mascots and the Majorettes performing at half time.”

Alan Mark Owen spurned the first chance of the game on 11 minutes when his header from a Gari Owen cross was saved by Dyrny stopper Harri Owen, but the home side kept plugging away and broke the deadlock after 27 when Kev Lloyd converted from the penalty spot after the talented forward had been felled in the box.

Things got even better for the hosts soon after when Liam Morris doubled their advantage with a composed finish after good work from Cai Powell-Roberts, and the same pattern of play emerged after the break with Cefni controlling possession without creating any significant chances against the resolute United rearguard.

They finally confirmed the points on 64 minutes when Sean Pritchard slotted past Owen after a prolonged spell of possession, with Jack Williams and Matthew Jones both hitting the bar in the closing stages during another dominant attacking display.

The early pacesetters are next in action this Saturday when they host Greenfield (2.30pm).
