LLANELWY Athletic extended their unbeaten start to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division season with an emphatic 9-0 home drubbing of Llysfaen.

James Burke got the ball rolling for the league leaders with his first after just four minutes, and he followed his up with 31 gone with his second from the penalty spot.

The hosts added a third after 35 minutes when Dan Price finished well, and Ashley Hughes continued the rout with a well-taken effort on 40.

Burke rounded off an incredible first half with his hat-trick in stoppage time, and the forward netted twice more to take his tally to five for the afternoon in the second period.

The impressive Hughes also converted another chance to bag his brace on 51 minutes, and Frankie Hennigan completed another superb attacking showing from the title favourites with five minutes to go.

Y Glannau find themselves in second spot after a sensational fightback saw them secure a 2-2 draw at Penrhyn Bay Dragons.

Second half goals from Scott Kearney and Jake Carey looked to have sealed three points for the home side, but Dann Gallagher and Alan Hall struck in the final five minutes to ensure both sides had something to show for their efforts after a thrilling conclusion to the clash.

Keiran Kendrick and Morgan Jones hit two goals apiece for Henllan in their resounding 7-1 home victory over Llanfairfechan Town Reserves, with Josh Morris, Phemmy Allison and Si Owen on target for Rhos United to gain a 4-0 success over St Asaph City Reserves.

The only other game of the weekend saw Betws-y-Coed and Rhuddlan Town Reserves play out a goalless draw.
