SPORTS reporter Dean Jones brings you his predictions ahead of another exciting weekend of action in the Huws Gray Alliance.

Conwy Borough vs Rhyl

This is probably the last game that Rhyl would want, with the Tangerines on a lengthy unbeaten run that has seen them firmly establish themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the second tier once again.

The Lilywhites will need to pick themselves up after a disappointing run of late, and they will not have things easy at Y Morfa against a side that a brimming with confidence and scoring goals at will.

Prediction: Conwy Borough 2-2 Rhyl

Holywell Town vs Denbigh Town

The Wellmen lock horns with Denbigh at Halkyn Road, with the two sides enjoying a fierce rivalry during their days in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance.

Matthew Jones and Dewi Llion’s men will be hoping their side can build on their fine cup success at Rhyl, with new signing Tom Hartley bolstering a Holywell squad that are still waiting for international clearance in relation to the return of striker Steve Lewis.

Prediction: Holywell Town 1-1 Denbigh Town

Gresford Athletic vs Bangor City

A rematch of last weekend’s thrilling Huws Gray Cup tie between the two sides is sure to be once again full of incident, with Athletic aiming to heap more misery on Craig Harrison and his squad in terms of their ambitions for promotion.

The Citizens’ showed their class in the second half of the cup tie, and if they can do so from the off this time around then it will be hard for Steve Halliwell’s men to contain them.

Prediction: Gresford Athletic 1-3 Bangor City

Guilsfield vs Buckley Town

The Guils’ will be hoping their home form can secure a derby day success over Buckley, who have begun to show signs of promise in the league after a poor start as they adjusted to life playing against a higher standard of opposition.

Both come into the game on the back of cup losses, but Town have won three of their last five league games and they will definitely fancy their chances at one of the toughest places to go anywhere in the division.

Prediction: Guilsfield 2-1 Buckley Town

Llanrhaeadr YM vs Flint Town United

Newly promoted Llanrhaeadr come up against a wounded animal in the Silkmen this weekend, with Niall McGuinness’ men falling at the first hurdle in their Huws Gray Cup defence.

Marc Griffiths’ squad have shown they can match any side in the second tier at home, but their performance levels will have to improve considerably if they are to contain an ambitious United side that boast the league’s top scorer in Mark Cadwallader.

Prediction: Llanrhaeadr YM 0-2 Flint Town United

Penrhyncoch vs Holyhead Hotspur

The Holy Islanders have finally found some form after a sluggish start, and they have their tales up with two victories on the bounce in league and cup action.

Jamie McDaid’s move to a more central attacking position has brought with it an instant turnaround in form, and the arrival of Marc Evans is going to give them even more firepower against a Pen side that have been inconsistent of late.

Prediction: Penrhyncoch 2-3 Holyhead Hotspur

Porthmadog vs Airbus Broughton

The Wingmakers have conquered everyone in their path so far this season, but their trip to Port represents another significant test and one they will have to work extremely hard to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Striker Asa Hamilton’s availability is in question due to a broken jaw, and his absence will be sorely missed by the early pacesetters against a Port side that are more than capable of beating anyone on their day.

Prediction: Porthmadog 2-2 Airbus Broughton

Prestatyn Town vs Ruthin Town

The Seasiders’ currently sit bottom of the standings after losing their last two, but Leon Field and Ryan Turn’s men have clearly been buoyed by new ownership if their heavy win over Penrhyncoch is any indication.

Things will not be easy for them this weekend against a well-drilled Ruthin outfit, who have quietly gone about their business again this season under Chris Williams and look set for another good season.

Prediction: Prestatyn Town 1-1 Ruthin Town
