Gwalia Winter Darts League
THE FIRST round of the winter darts league was played down to a winning pair.
The event, which is sponsored by Colwyn Bay Royal British Legion, was held at Wings Social Club.
In the best of three legs Victoria Club C's Gwilym and Darren took a victory against the Park Hotel A's Steve and Ady with a result of 2-0.
Ship Hotel B O/C’s Des and Chris beat Royal Hotel’s Eric and Jason, with a score of 2-0. Colwyn Bay Legion A’s Graham and Karl received the ‘Bye.’
Central Hotel's Arthur and Simon took on Park Hotel A's Mick & Steve, with a 2-1 result. Wings Social Club's Kevin and Dave beat team mates Jim and Rob, with a score of 2-0.
Victoria Club C's Jamie and Sykes lost 2-1 to the Valentine’s Chris and Dan. Ship Hotel B O/C's Jonny and Andy received a “Bye.”
Semaphore Lodge's Mel and Eddie won Colwyn Bay Legion A's Arthur and Ady, scoring 2-1.
In the second round, Gwilym and Darren lost 2-0 to Chris and Des, Graham and Karl lost 2-1 to Arthur and Simon, Dave and Kevin lost 2-0 to Chris and Dan and Jonny and Andy lost 2-0 to Mel and Eddie.
In the quarter final round the Ship Hotel B O/C’s Des and Chris lost 2-0 to Central Hotel’s Arthur and Simon. Valentine’s Chris and Dan lost 2-0 to Mel and Eddie.
In the best of five legs semi-final on the night Arthur and Simon took on Mel and Eddie, losing 3-2.
At the Colwyn Bay Royal British Legion, in the Preliminary Round, playing best of three legs, Wings Social Club's Mary and Jo lost 2-1 to Semaphore Lodge's Gary and Mike.
Ship Hotel B O/C's Martyn and Stuart lost 2-0 to Victoria Club C's Dave and John. Colwyn Bay Legion A's Ron and Warren lost 2-0 to team mates Peter and Snowy. Semaphore Lodge's Nigel and Cliff took a victory against team mates Geoff and Owen 2-0.
Wings Social Club’s John W. and Mary lost 2-0 to Park Hotel A's Roy and Joe. Victoria Club C's Tony and Mike beat Semaphore Lodge's Andy and Dave 2-1.
In the first round Colwyn Bay Legion A's Brian and Jeff beat Ship Hotel B'O/C's Marc and Barry 2-1.
Gary and Mike lost 2-0 to Dave and John, Peter and Snowy beat Nigel and Cliff 2-0, and Roy and Joe beat Tony and Mike 2-1. In the best of five legs second round Jeff and Brian lost 3-2 to Dave and John. Peter and Snowy beat Roy and Joe 3-0.
In the Semi Final on the night Dave and John took a victory against Peter and Snowy 3-2. The Final will take place on finals night.
William Thomas Memorial Competition
THE QUARTER finals saw the Ship Hotel B O/C take a victory against the Colwyn Bay Legion A.
The event was played at the Park Hotel, with a final result of 3-0. The Legion won the next two games,with the Ship B winning the sixth game to lead 4-3.
The Legion won the last game to level the match at 4-4.
Both captains picked out three players to playoff for a result on the night, with the Ship players throwing good darts to win the first two games and the match by 6-4.
From the Royal Hotel, The Wetherspoons, were level at 3-3 against the Park Hotel A, who won the remaining two games to win the match by 5-3.
The Semaphore Lodge's opponents. the Boathouse Social Club failed to turn out, as did the Estuary against the Victoria Club C.
Both the Semaphore and the Victoria go through to the Semi-finals.
