GLAN Conwy edged through to the FAW Trophy semi final after a fine brace of penalty saves by keeper Arron Peel.
Glan travelled to Rhos, knowing a tough match lay ahead, and it certainly was, with a great game played on a tricky surface.
After 120 minutes of football failed to separate the teams, both teams having a few half chances, the game went to penalties.
Glan scored through, Ashley Smith, Aled Stapleton, Sam Sinkinson and the outstanding Rob King, while goalkeeper Arron Peel made two great penalty saves to win the tie.
Meanwhile Glan Conwy reserves were at home to unbeaten league leaders Prestatyn Town reserves, and beat them 8-2 in a fantastic team performance with goals from Paul Woodhouse (three), Daniel Forber (two), James Hobson (two) and Mally Tidswell.
Glan Conwy have been drawn against Llanberis in the FAW Trophy semi final will be played at Farrar Road, Bangor on Saturday, March 13 with a 2-00 kick off.
The first team are away to Holywell Town tonight (Wednesday) and away to Barmouth on Saturday.
