IT HAS been a mixed week for Llandudno with a win over Glan Conwy in the NWCFA Challenge Cup and a draw with title challengers Llangefni.

The team's co-manager Grant Montgomery has led by example scoring two crucial goal for the club.

Tudno slipped down to fourth in the Cymru Alliance after drawing what Montgomery described as a must win.

On Saturday Llandudno were missing key players through mid week dismissals during their match with GlanConwy.

The home side took the lead after 17 minutes when Yws Gwynedd reacted quickly to a corner and slotted home.

Despite the set back Llandudno defended with passion and physically changed the game, making it narrow and forcing gaps.

With both defences looking strong under pressure, the game was played between the 18 yard boxes.

It was more of the same in the second half and it looked like Llandudno were going to lose until Montgomery scored deep in injury time with a shot that was deflected past the Llangefni keeper.

Llangefni are tied at the top with Flint Town on the same points and same goal difference with Buckley and Llandudno 12 and 13 points adrift, with Llandudno having three games in hand.

On Wednesday night Llandudno progressed to the semi finals of the NWCFA Challenge Cup by beating Glan Conwy 4-3.

Glan could have won the game with missed chances from Andy Booker and Gavin Roberts.

Danny Hughes put Tudno ahead on four minutes before Ashley Smith levelled on 9 minutes.

Llandudno were then gifted two goals just before the break through Gwyn Peters and Lee Thomas.

Thomas was then sent off before Joe Williams pulled one back for Glan.

Llandudno captain Craig Hogg was sent off.

Liam Griffiths' 90th minute cross ended up in the far corner of the net to level the game at 3-3, but on 92 minutes Montgomery, who came on as a late sub, headed the winner.
