SIX wickets from Jack Rimmington and a boundary-studded 93 from Gordon Kerr took North Wales Premier Division leaders Llandudno to victory at Llanrwst.

And with second-placed Mold surprisingly losing against Pontblyddyn and Menai Bridge winning their local derby with Bangor, Llandudno are now more than 50 points clear at the top of the table.

Travelling away to Llanwrst skipper Duncan Midgley won the toss and elected to bat first.

Llanwrst opted to open the bowling with two spinners, a strategy that seemed to have worked with Alwyn Williams picking up Steve Smith and Aled Williams and Tomos Slattery bowling Sam Rimmington with the score on 25 for 3.

The depth of the Llandudno batting line up, saw Midgley and Gordon Kerr put on 109 for the next wicket before Midgley fell for 63. Kerr went on to 93 and the Tudno innings reached 207 for 9 in the 41st over, when skipper Midgley declared securing 8 batting points.

Alwyn Williams took 3 for 60, Ryan Heywood 3 for 16 and Trefor Williams 2 for 39.
The game was there for Llanwrst to win. Jack Rimmington took two early wickets, the score on 27 for 2. Ryan Heywood and Nathan Jones put on 53 before Jones was caught behind off Sam Rimmington. Heywood fell for 65 as skipper Midgley brought back the opening bowlers with the score on 114 for 4. The Llanwrst innings was 152 all out as Kerr and Jack Rimmington ripped through them leaving Tim Coleman on 18 not out.

Jack Rimmington took 6 for 35 off 15 overs, Kerr 2 for 44 off 15, Sam Rimmington 1 for 25 and Duncan Midgley 1 for 7.

Llandudno took 28 points to increase their lead at the top of the table and Llanwrst 6 points.

Jordan Kane hammered a six-springled 176 not out as Llandudno seconds went on a run spree at The Oval.

Conwy were second in the table before the game but Llandudno skipper Matt Lambe won the toss and elected to bat on a good batting wicket. Losing opener Martin Bean early Neil Gallagher then built a partnership with Jordan Kane of 90, before Gallagher was stumped for 36 off the bowling of Danny Wilson.

Another quick wicket brought Phil Williams to the crease; he partnered Kane for 142 runs of which he scored 36. Kane reached his second century in 85 balls and then went on to finish on 176 not out when the declaration came at the end of the 45th over. Llandudno posted 265 for 3.

Success only came for Conwy bowlers when Wilson made 2 for 63 off 9 overs and Dan Davies 1 for 37 off 11 overs.

The Conwy innings never really settled and there was a constant stream of wickets as they faced the run chase, Ed Favill coming in at number five, played steadily for a notable 71 and built a partnership of 56 with Jonathon Davies for the seventh wicket.

When this was broken by Neil Gallagher having Davies caught for 19 things started to slide for Conwy again and they slumped from 143 for 6 to 151 all out.
Andy Christian took 3 for 31, Phil Williams 2 for 22, and Gallagher 3 for 5.
Llandudno took a maximum 30 points from the game and Conwy 3.

Matchball sponsor was Ken Williams of Llandudno.
