Bangor 224-4
Mochdre 150 all out
Bangor won by 74 runs

MOCHDRE were brought back down to earth with a bump after last week’s record breaking match with a 74 run defeat against Bangor.

Mochdre won the toss and chose to field first, and got off to a great start by taking two Bangor wickets for just 14 runs.

Russ Boswell took Bangor’s Mathew Jackson with a golden duck, and struck again shortly after to make an electrifying start to the match.

Bangor rallied however, and opener Andrew Savage put up 99 runs not out to steer his side to a decent total of 224-4 declared after fifty overs.

In response, Mochdre failed to replicate the free-scoring performance of last week, with top batsman Will Evans only reaching 13 and Adam Campion, who has impressed over recent weeks, also faltering in making 19.

Joe Chaplin top scored with 32 as the latter half of the batting order crumbled against some strong bowling from Bangor, finishing 74 runs short at the fall of the last wicket.

The loss puts Mochdre one place above the relegation places with a crucial match next week against Brymbo who are just below them in the league.

Mochdre II 319-3
Bersham II 184 all out

A 257 RUN partnership between Adam Jones (156) and Steve Jones (101) gave Mochdre a commanding victory to close the gap on the top two in Division four.
After losing an early wicket with just 7 runs on the board, the mammoth partnership from the Jones’ was too much for Bersham to keep up with, with Adam smashing 17 fours and nine sixes on the way to his huge score, which ranks as the seventh best individual innings in north Wales this season.

Despite their efforts, the huge total set out was always a big ask of Bersham, who reached a respectable 184 before being declared all out.
Alastair Paterson took two for 26 from his ten overs, with Sean McHale close behind on two for 27.

Man of the Match Adam Jones also bagged a trio of wickets to complete an outstanding afternoon’s cricket.
