A POPULAR football league in Colwyn Bay is appealing for referees to officiate it’s matches.
The six-a-side Futebol league, which runs at Eirias Park astroturf on Wednesday nights, is looking for referees to come forward to oversee it’s weekly matches.
Maurice Beer, an official for the Colwyn Bay league, said they were looking to get in contact with officials to meet the demand of the increasingly popular league and avoid match cancelations.
“We have had very little in the way of player or team problems, it's a nice friendly league with some talented players just wanting a good game of football for 40 minutes, but we just have a bare minimum of referees.
“We need to get a list together to ensure we do not have to cancel any games due to a shortage as the league is growing in strength.
